DiFara Pizza In operation since 1964 in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. Dom DeMarco the proprietor makes the pies himself. Expect lines.

Juliana’s Celebrated return of pizza legend Patsy Grimaldi to Brooklyn in 2013.

Kitchenette comfort food at its best – serving Harlem and Hudson Valley for over 20 years.

Massawa The oldest African eatery in NYC (re- opening February 2019). Serves Ethiopian – Eritrean food every day, all day.

Freemans Down the Alleyway…In the fall of 2004, Taavo Somer and William Tigertt happened upon a perfect cozy space at the end of an unused alley off the Bowery, and Freemans Restaurant was born. Loved the Brunch menu!

Cocotte Located in Soho, Cocotte is a French- Spanish rooted restaurant with a hint of accents from the basque country.

Russ and Daughters Their  New York Brunch is one of Oprah’s favorite things of 2018!

Two Hands Named after the crime-com film starring Heath Ledger, Two Hands encapsulates Australia’s relaxed, sophisticated cafe culture. Great food, rude service thought (but ok i think it was only one occasion)

Uncle Boons  New York’s new favorite uncle, Boons serves up Michelin-star Thai in a fun, tongue-in-cheek combo of retro wood panels, Thai film posters and old family snaps.

Butcher’s Daughter (vegeterian) The Butcher’s Daughter is a plant-based restaurant, cafe, juice bar and “vegetable slaughterhouse.»  We treat fruits and vegetables as a butcher would meat: We chop, fillet and carve fresh produce into healthy vegetarian dishes and press them into pretty juices.

La Esquina Mega popular and quirky little spot! Serves Mexican food.

Chelsea Market In a shining example of redevelopment and preservation, the Chelsea Market has transformed former factory into a shopping concourse that caters to foodies. More than two dozen food vendors of which in one evening I taste 1) burger and lobster 2)green table (farm fresh organic ingredients) 3)los tacos 1 (to die for) 4) la arte del gelato 5)Sarabeth’s (extra delicious brownies).

Where to drink

Apotheke Cocktail Bar At Apothéke, the presentation of a cocktail is just as dramatic as the cocktail itself. The bar is no longer a bar. It’s a stage. A chemistry lab. A theatre. A unique-shaped Austrian crystal glass is carefully selected for each cocktail, and into it, is poured a beautiful, jewel-colored liquid. This is much more than a cocktail bar – this is a cocktail apothecary. Definitely my fav bar at NYC! Every Tuesday Jazz night live with the High & Mighty Brass Band.

Please Don’t Tell (speakeasy) Definitely a must on the NYC speakeasy hit list.

The Top of the Standard (rooftop bar) With dramatic city views that turn magical at sundown, the glittering room of late-night lore is equally alive during Sunset Service.
